One of the questions we always get asked is how do we do the fun video effects that we have on our videos?
Like Pete’s fireball hands, or the blood splatter…
Truth is we have a video editor, the lovely Christina and she uses Final Cut Pro which is a professional video editing software that has all kinds of fun add ons.
But if you’re just getting started and using something like iMovie, or Hitfilm, where do you get started?
Video animation effects will boost your retention rates
Remember, video animation effects are great for keeping retention up which is super important – we talked about it in the infamous Mankini video!
But when it comes to DIYing video animation effects, to be honest, we didn’t have an answer for you, but we got asked it so much we got digging…
Check out this amazing website…
We found this cool site called Production Crate (FYI this is our affiliate link 😊)
There’s loads of cool stuff on this website, but one thing is has is visual effects that you can actually download and add to your videos.
Things like explosions 💥, cool arrows ↖️ pointing at stuff and even cool YouTube-specific calls to action.
Some of these are FREE, but for just $69.99/year you get access to everything AND download up to 50 things a day… that’s a lot of blood splatters 😆
Once you download these, these are video files with a transparent background that you can layover your main video in your editing software.
For example in iMovie you can just drag your visual effect onto your video, making sure it’s in ‘picture in picture’ mode, and place it where you want it.
Go check it out! Let us know in the comments if you know of any other places to find cool effects!
